Heading to the doctor's office for our 4 month checkup. Look how sweet this little guy is! He is awesome!! So sweet, and always ALWAYS smiling. Ihaven't really been around babies a whole lot until Kade, so everything he does, I just accept as "normal." Anyone who comes to see him, family, friends and even the doctor always comment on how much he smiles. I love it. He puts on a show for you and always wants to be part of the party:). It's crazy how much life changes in just a few short months and you don't even know it's happening. I can't imagine life without him.
I feel a little guilyt for taking these pics at the doctor's office. I take pictures of him ALL THE TIME so it just seemed natural to take them on our visit... After the shots came, I hated myself for trying to record this awful experience. 3 days later, now that the fever is gone, I can write about it without feeling sick myself. Nothing worse than a sick baby!!
Kade is perfect & healthy. :) (Coming from the doctor, not me:)). He weighs 13 lbs exactly, and is 24 1/2 inches long. I can't remember what his head measures but he was in the 25th percentile in all areas. Still a little guy :(, but we're growing!! He was only in the 10th percentile at the last visit so we're progressing. We'll get there! :)
Kade loves loves loves his Daddy! They are bff's for sure! Daddy is the one who calms him down if he's really upset... He had a BIG job while Kade was sick! Kade had a 101 fever for 36 hours. It was AWFUL. I'm so blessed to have a hubby that is so active in Kade's life. We have a 50-50 joint effort all the way. Of course, there are things that each of us is best at (not to toot my own horn but PATIENCE is a big one:)), and that's what makes raising Kade so fun and enjoyable. (I have to throw out there that my mom and maw-maw are HUGE helps to us too). But Shane and Kade have such a cute amazing bond that I am so proud of. I feel so lucky that Shane is such a great Daddy.
Life is good. I'm loving this age. he can hold his head up great, sits in a bumbo and grabs his toys away from me. He loves the dorky songs Shane and I make up. (we're thinking about going into the "cartoon music biz" if there is a career in that- our tunes are pretty catchy!) He's rolled over, though it happens once in a blue moom- but still he CAN do it if he wants. And we're starting him on cereal. Hope he likes it. Maybe REAL food is what he needs to put some meat on them bones!
Kade is officially a 5 month old. It really is crazy how fast time goes. This weekend we got lots of family time and some much needed R&R. Kade is such a snuggle bug. 
I love his sweet little belly. So cute!!
We also got to spend some time with Kade's little buddies. Above pic is Kade and Gavin. Gav is 2 months older than Kade, one of his best buds, and ALL OVER THE PLACE. It's so fun to see what Kade will be up to very soon! And Gavin is quite the little cutie!!
This one is Kade and Beckham. B is exactly 2 months younger than Kade.... and weighs in slightly above Kade. :):) Look at them sweet cheeks on that fella. LOVE IT!!!! We had to get on to Kade though (haha), he hasn't learn not to punch his buddy yet. And poor B can't defend himself!
And of course some fun with Mimi and Maw-Maw. This boy loves them so much!! Of course, Dixie in the background... a new favorite for Kade. it's like he just realized that she exists and we LOVE to play with her!
And the four bff's! Kade is the oldest and Becks is the youngest. Look at Kade, so sweet!!! He's holding Ben's hand:) Ben is a little shy around people he doesn't know, so Kade was holding his buddy's hand to make him feel better. Already such a sweetheart. :)
No worries! We haven't converted. We're still die hard SOONER fans, but we were given tickets to the Cotton Bowl and wanted to see the new Dallas Cowboy's Stadium. It's pretty amazing!!
We met Drew down in Texas for a little pre-game fun. So good to see him and got the meet the new gf :).

A little out of order, I know- since I already posted our New Year. But just wanted to recap on our first Christmas as a family of 3. This was the best Christmas ever for me. It was so much fun having Kade there and getting into the Christmas spirit. He has no clue what's going on, except for that he does love the lights on the Christmas tree. ha! I can't imagine the fun we'll have in a few years when he's getting excited about Santa:). With all of his presents, I'm going to do my best to help him learn the true meaning of Christmas. 
I've already mentioned the ridiculous (but I absolutely LOVE having) trendy clothes that Gigi gives him. ummmm true religion jeans for a 4 month old??! Crazy!! But he also got this fun jumparoo. It's soooo cute!! This isn't the best pic of him, but the rest I have of him in it are super blurry because this thing puts him in ACTION. He has a big time in it and gets lots of exercise.
And yes, kade already has a sports car. Thanks mimi!! :) He already broke it in on Christmas morning with a good nap. he's looking forward to some fun sleepovers at Mimi's. 
Kade had a wild party with Mimi and Maw-Maw to ring in the new year. :) We had a pretty eventful New Year's Eve day going to the mall and lunch. Kade really wasn't able to get a good nap in at all during the day because we were busying around. I hate doing that to him and it makes me feel bad when he isn't able to get his good rest. He got plenty that night though. he still LOVES his swing (or "mixer" as mimi likes to call it). He fell asleep as shane and I left for dinner and didn't wake up until 6:45 the next morning. Such a good sleeper! Mommy & Daddy went to dinner and then went to our best friends house for games. Love it!!! Kade always loves playing with mimi and mawmaw, so I know if he would've been up for the party they planned, he would have loved it. :) We are all looking forward to a great 2010!
