Cotton Bowl- Go Pokes!

No worries! We haven't converted. We're still die hard SOONER fans, but we were given tickets to the Cotton Bowl and wanted to see the new Dallas Cowboy's Stadium. It's pretty amazing!!

We met Drew down in Texas for a little pre-game fun. So good to see him and got the meet the new gf :).

Heading in for the game. All good now that we FINALLY found a parking spot (for $40!!!) and almost hit a girl. Well, actually she hit our car. We were stopped completely, thank goodness. Coulda gotten ugly! I guess she was just partying it up in her tailgate and didn't realize a giant truck was sitting there. Whatever, we got situated and it was time for FUN!

Awesome seats!!! 8 rows up on the 20 yard line. Only problem was we were on the Ole Miss side... No big deal since they have friendly fans and we aren't really Cowboy fans. :)

No good. We lost the game. We were sad for the Cowboys but we had a GREAT time. Off to Babe's for some fried chicken. YUM!!!

4 months

Heading to the doctor's office for our 4 month checkup. Look how sweet this little guy is! He is awesome!! So sweet, and always ALWAYS smiling. Ihaven't really been around babies a whole lot until Kade, so everything he does, I just accept as "normal." Anyone who comes to see him, family, friends and even the doctor always comment on how much he smiles. I love it. He puts on a show for you and always wants to be part of the party:). It's crazy how much life changes in just a few short months and you don't even know it's happening. I can't imagine life without him.

I feel a little guilyt for taking these pics at the doctor's office. I take pictures of him ALL THE TIME so it just seemed natural to take them on our visit... After the shots came, I hated myself for trying to record this awful experience. 3 days later, now that the fever is gone, I can write about it without feeling sick myself. Nothing worse than a sick baby!!

Kade is perfect & healthy. :) (Coming from the doctor, not me:)). He weighs 13 lbs exactly, and is 24 1/2 inches long. I can't remember what his head measures but he was in the 25th percentile in all areas. Still a little guy :(, but we're growing!! He was only in the 10th percentile at the last visit so we're progressing. We'll get there! :)

Kade loves loves loves his Daddy! They are bff's for sure! Daddy is the one who calms him down if he's really upset... He had a BIG job while Kade was sick! Kade had a 101 fever for 36 hours. It was AWFUL. I'm so blessed to have a hubby that is so active in Kade's life. We have a 50-50 joint effort all the way. Of course, there are things that each of us is best at (not to toot my own horn but PATIENCE is a big one:)), and that's what makes raising Kade so fun and enjoyable. (I have to throw out there that my mom and maw-maw are HUGE helps to us too). But Shane and Kade have such a cute amazing bond that I am so proud of. I feel so lucky that Shane is such a great Daddy.

Life is good. I'm loving this age. he can hold his head up great, sits in a bumbo and grabs his toys away from me. He loves the dorky songs Shane and I make up. (we're thinking about going into the "cartoon music biz" if there is a career in that- our tunes are pretty catchy!) He's rolled over, though it happens once in a blue moom- but still he CAN do it if he wants. And we're starting him on cereal. Hope he likes it. Maybe REAL food is what he needs to put some meat on them bones!

Christmas

A little out of order, I know- since I already posted our New Year. But just wanted to recap on our first Christmas as a family of 3. This was the best Christmas ever for me. It was so much fun having Kade there and getting into the Christmas spirit. He has no clue what's going on, except for that he does love the lights on the Christmas tree. ha! I can't imagine the fun we'll have in a few years when he's getting excited about Santa:). With all of his presents, I'm going to do my best to help him learn the true meaning of Christmas.

But for now, let's talk about his presents. :) He is one blessed little man!! He got SO much stuff, I'll definitely be leaving a ton out, but here are a few fun things. Pictured above, Nonnie & Paw-Paw have started a college fund for Kade. What an AMAZING gift!! Mommy & Daddy have been saving for him too already, but this is icing on the cake. I know Kade is a genius and will most likely be headed for med school:), so we need to save as much as possible for him. He also got a cute dino book that giggles and a camo outfit to go hunting with Paw-paw. so cute!!

I've already mentioned the ridiculous (but I absolutely LOVE having) trendy clothes that Gigi gives him. ummmm true religion jeans for a 4 month old??! Crazy!! But he also got this fun jumparoo. It's soooo cute!! This isn't the best pic of him, but the rest I have of him in it are super blurry because this thing puts him in ACTION. He has a big time in it and gets lots of exercise.

And yes, kade already has a sports car. Thanks mimi!! :) He already broke it in on Christmas morning with a good nap. he's looking forward to some fun sleepovers at Mimi's.

All in all, my son is officially spoiled. Merry Christmas!!

Happy New Year! 2010

Kade had a wild party with Mimi and Maw-Maw to ring in the new year. :) We had a pretty eventful New Year's Eve day going to the mall and lunch. Kade really wasn't able to get a good nap in at all during the day because we were busying around. I hate doing that to him and it makes me feel bad when he isn't able to get his good rest. He got plenty that night though. he still LOVES his swing (or "mixer" as mimi likes to call it). He fell asleep as shane and I left for dinner and didn't wake up until 6:45 the next morning. Such a good sleeper! Mommy & Daddy went to dinner and then went to our best friends house for games. Love it!!! Kade always loves playing with mimi and mawmaw, so I know if he would've been up for the party they planned, he would have loved it. :) We are all looking forward to a great 2010!

Christmas Pictures

We have been crazy busy since Thanksgiving! I know everyone gets busier during the holidays, but adding a baby to our schedule this year has made things just nuts at our house. :) Without going too much further into today's blog, I have to brag on Kaders.... He rolled over! Yay!! The Dr. said he should be doing this by his next checkup- which is coming up in just 1 week- so I'm pretty happy that we are gonna get to go back and be "on schedule." Haha. We took Kade to meet Santa a few weeks ago, and he LOVES Santa so far. And why shouldn't he?? Already, Santa (aka GiGi) has brought him a Juicy blankie, 2 Juicy warm-ups, Juicy shoes, True Religion jeans, and a portable DVD player. Who knew they even make all of that for infants??? And we still have 3 more sets of grandparents to see for Christmas. I hear he is bringing a sports car bed to sleep in at Mimi's... Seriously?!!! Lucky kiddo!! He's 4 months old and owns more labels than I do. And I thought only the baby girls got the cute stuff. Baby boys get some love too :)

We took our Christmas pictures a few weeks ago but I'm just now getting them mailed out today. Typical me, I know. But at least we're getting them out this year. Actually, can't even take credit for it. Mimi got me to do it. Anywho, here are a few of the pics that didn't make it. Its tough to get a pic where all 3 of us look good.

Man in the Mirror

Kade is getting bigger and bigger and he's definitely showing his personality!! As you can see above, we are having lots of fun!! His favorite thing to do right now is lay under his jungle gym and get a really good workout. He kicks and kicks and waves his arms. He gets all the moving pieces going and just laughs at it. It's so stinkin cute. My favorite part though is the way he LOVES to look at himself in the mirror that hangs above him. It cracks me up. He can be cranky and tired and so not in the mood, but you put him under that mirror and he just stares at himself and smiles!! He can't get enough of himself. I love it. Already so much confidence!! haha!

Ahhhhhh...... Thursday

I love my Thursdays with Kade. I wish everyday was Thursday :). I think we're finally settling into a routine and everyone is doing good. I wake up to his precious smiles and we play and play and play. No rushing to be anywhere, just play and snuggle are the only things on the agenda for my perfect Thursdays.

Had a little switch up today though..Gavin needed someone to watch him until his mommy got home from work. We're talking 2 hours, 2-4pm. Easy enough, right?? Whoa!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2 boys to watch is much tougher than 1. Probably because I WONT let Kade be upset even for a second.... not on my Thursday with him. That's my day where he gets spoiled with mommy-loving. And I don't want to be a bad aunt, right?? I want Gavin to love me too!!! These boys were a handful. Luckily, Mimi came over when she got off work and helped me take them for a walk. So, as stressful as it was, I was only actually alone with the 2 little ones for 45 minutes. Sad!!! Look at the mess I made!!!!
