Christmas Pictures

We have been crazy busy since Thanksgiving! I know everyone gets busier during the holidays, but adding a baby to our schedule this year has made things just nuts at our house. :) Without going too much further into today's blog, I have to brag on Kaders.... He rolled over! Yay!! The Dr. said he should be doing this by his next checkup- which is coming up in just 1 week- so I'm pretty happy that we are gonna get to go back and be "on schedule." Haha. We took Kade to meet Santa a few weeks ago, and he LOVES Santa so far. And why shouldn't he?? Already, Santa (aka GiGi) has brought him a Juicy blankie, 2 Juicy warm-ups, Juicy shoes, True Religion jeans, and a portable DVD player. Who knew they even make all of that for infants??? And we still have 3 more sets of grandparents to see for Christmas. I hear he is bringing a sports car bed to sleep in at Mimi's... Seriously?!!! Lucky kiddo!! He's 4 months old and owns more labels than I do. And I thought only the baby girls got the cute stuff. Baby boys get some love too :)

We took our Christmas pictures a few weeks ago but I'm just now getting them mailed out today. Typical me, I know. But at least we're getting them out this year. Actually, can't even take credit for it. Mimi got me to do it. Anywho, here are a few of the pics that didn't make it. Its tough to get a pic where all 3 of us look good.

I ruined this pic! I'm talking!! Don't I know to just shut it and smile?? This pic is perfect of Shane & kade. I love it!!! Definitely going to cut myself out- this one's a framer!! Look at my cute little man!!!!! I just love him to pieces. The big one and the little one :)

Man in the Mirror

Kade is getting bigger and bigger and he's definitely showing his personality!! As you can see above, we are having lots of fun!! His favorite thing to do right now is lay under his jungle gym and get a really good workout. He kicks and kicks and waves his arms. He gets all the moving pieces going and just laughs at it. It's so stinkin cute. My favorite part though is the way he LOVES to look at himself in the mirror that hangs above him. It cracks me up. He can be cranky and tired and so not in the mood, but you put him under that mirror and he just stares at himself and smiles!! He can't get enough of himself. I love it. Already so much confidence!! haha!

Ahhhhhh...... Thursday

I love my Thursdays with Kade. I wish everyday was Thursday :). I think we're finally settling into a routine and everyone is doing good. I wake up to his precious smiles and we play and play and play. No rushing to be anywhere, just play and snuggle are the only things on the agenda for my perfect Thursdays.

Had a little switch up today though..Gavin needed someone to watch him until his mommy got home from work. We're talking 2 hours, 2-4pm. Easy enough, right?? Whoa!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2 boys to watch is much tougher than 1. Probably because I WONT let Kade be upset even for a second.... not on my Thursday with him. That's my day where he gets spoiled with mommy-loving. And I don't want to be a bad aunt, right?? I want Gavin to love me too!!! These boys were a handful. Luckily, Mimi came over when she got off work and helped me take them for a walk. So, as stressful as it was, I was only actually alone with the 2 little ones for 45 minutes. Sad!!! Look at the mess I made!!!!

2 month checkup

Sweet baby Kade had his 2 month doctor's appointment today..... It was VERY tough on mommy and daddy. Kade did great!! Dr. says he is growing PERFECTLY and everything is great. We're only in the 10th percentile weighing in at 10 lbs :( which for some reason makes me kinda sad. The doctor assures us that this doesn't mean he's going to be a "little guy" forever, it's just he was born little and he's got some catching up to do. We woke up this morning, got Kade bathed and ready, then headed to the doctor to meet up with daddy. Kade slept the whole way there and woke up in a great mood (as he usually does, see below).... too bad the good mood didn't last long. We got our shots. Kade only cried for a couple seconds and then I was able to calm him down. Mommy cried for longer, and I'm pretty sure daddy teared up as well even though I know he'd kill me for writing that. Ugh!! I hate kade being in pain!!! I want to fix it!!! But all in all it went great and he's been sleeping most of the day in his favorite swing. Kade's doing everything he's supposed to be doing and I'm pretty sure he's a genius. :) Mommy and Daddy on the other hand have some work to do. Doctor says we're supposed to leave Kade in his room at 8pm and not go back until 6 in the morning..... YEAH RIGHT! He says we can either be a shuttle service or a chauffer. Congratulations Kade, your parents are chauffers. You win!! haha.

Here are a few more dorky Halloween pics :). I know he's not always going to wear the cutesy stuff I want him to, so I might as well do it now. I'm constantly kissing those sweet cheeks. I just can't get enough of him..... He can't get enough either as you can tell. haha! Below is another one of my favs. Of course, again, daddy got this sweet smile. Kade LOVES mornings and wakes up in such a good mood. Definitely doesn't get that from me!! but he does put me in a good mood now. How could you not be with this sweet face??!!!

Smile

Kade started smiling on October 12th.... The real smiles. And when he does it, everything in the world is right. I wish I could say I'm the one getting all these great smiles, but the truth is Daddy is really the one who is raking them in! It's so so sweet. They have some pretty special time together in the mornings. Shane woke me up this morning and shows this sweet picture to me. It's now my screensaver, posted on facebook, and I ordered a print online. I just can't get enough of him!! I'm going back to work on Monday after 8 great weeks off, so today I just stared at this picture and cried. Next week is going to be so tough, but at least I'm only working 4 days instead of 5. I guess that's a little better. Please pray for me next week!!

Kade's Birth Announcements

Announcements are finally here. I LOVE them! It was so hard for me to pick a favorite picture of him, so I used 3 :). I know I always say it, and I'm his mommy and all...... But he is just the cutest thing I've ever seen!!!!!!I've never been more proud in my life. He is just amazing! I already know I will be one of those crazy moms who cheers the loudest at the games and sits front row just to be closer to him. Poor Kade!

I will ALWAYS be his #1 fan.

Mommy & Daddy date night- ALL NIGHT!

Thanks to Mimi & MawMaw, Shane and I had our first date night... and we stayed out all night long.!! We weren't quite the party animals it sounds like though. haha. We went to eat at Michael's (which I highly recommend now, btw). We ate dinner, had a glass of wine and TALKED. It was so nice to spend some time with my hubby. Everything has been all about Kade (but trust me, I'm still super obsessed with my sweet lil guy) and we hadnt had a chance to spend quality married time together. I missed him!! We had such a good time. Then we met up with a friend for a drink and then off to our hotel and spent the whole night together... Got a whole nightt's rest and had breakfast in bed the next morning. Amazing!!!! Here's a pic of the whole fam right before we were off. Best date night and I'm just so thankful for my perfect husband. So in love!!!!

Happy October 1st

So, he's not quite as pumped as I am about it being "Halloween month" but it's officially ok to start wearing all our cute costumes. And I'm exctied to get started!! Mimi and GiGi really took care of our little guy, so there will be a lot more of these photo shoots. Hopefully I'll be able to catch a smile. It melts my heart when he does it :)

One month!! Time Flies..

Our sweet boy is now a month old. I'm shocked at how fast time is going by. I love him more and more every day and it makes me sad how fast time is going. He's getting bigger and bigger and we are finally starting to fit into all of his cute clothes! I LOVE putting him in a new outfit and gushing over how stinkin cute he is. He's gained 2 lbs so far- which brings us up to 8 lb 5 oz! (Thanks mimi for letting us come visit you at work to find out:) He's eating so much better now and that really puts me at ease.

I never understood the love a mommy & daddy have for their child until Kade was here. Makes me so thankful for our moms and dads. My mom has been a huge help to us- we really lucked out that she happens to be a pediatric nurse practitioner :) Another reason Kade is such a lucky guy. :) But it just makes me so happy to have my mom around to get excited with me and love on kade. Kade (and Shane & I) have so much love and suppport coming from Mimi, Maw-Maw, Granna, Paw-Paw, Gigi, Grampa, Nonnie, & Paw-Paw. Thanks so much to all of these very special people in his life.

Kade's little buddies- OH BOY!!!

Kade is one lucky little guy! The day he arrived into this world, he already had a team full of buddies that are all his age. :) Little guys to play with already!! This picture was taken at one of my showers- EVERYONE is preggo with little boys!! Crazy! (There's even one more, Ashley, not pictured because her little cutie was already born.) As a mommy, I feel so incredibly blessed to have all of these beautiful ladies to go through the pregnancy with and our journey as new mommies. I talked to these girls daily throughout my whole pregnancy, and I don't think I could have made it without them. An added bonus in the bunch was Camille- who just so happens to be a Labor and Delivery nurse at the hospital I delivered at.... She answered all my crazy questions and kept me sane!! Thank goodness for her!! And now, one by one, we are all becoming proud new moms. Just waiting on one more arrival now... We can't wait til baby Beckham gets here. :) Kade is so blessed to already have good friends. They're more than friends though. I like to think of them as our extended family- our cousins for Kade to grow up with. We're gonna have SO MUCH FUN!!

These 2.... only 7 weeks apart! They grow so fast!!! He's twice the size of Kade!!! So cute, but kinda makes me sad because I know how fast my sweet baby is gonna grow.

8-23-2009... Kade ishere!!

Kade is finally here!! At 6am on 8/23/09, my water broke!!! It wasn't a huge gush like I had feared so I wasn't positive it was the real deal... and neither was Shane. (We'd had a false alarm 3 days before:) haha) So, we headed up to the hospital and sure enough, Kade was on his way!!! So excited, we made all the phone calls and I was ready for a long day of labor. Things quickly changed, though, because as soon as they gave me the medicine to make me contract regularly, Kade's heart rate went WAY down. Things got pretty scary for us for a little while because this was just so unexpected. Dr. Hager decided that we'd have to do an emergency c-section to keep our baby safe...... So only 1 hour of labor for me, and I was wheeled into the OR and Kade was here at 12:08pm. He was 19 1/2 in. long, and 6 lb 4 oz. He is absolutely perfect and mommy and daddy are VERY VERY proud! It was by far the very best day of my life.
